Who is Kim Batson?

A woman, mother, wife, sister, and daughter. She is a spiritual woman, who believes that we are all one, part of the earth and part of each other. Those who know her would call her caring, creative, passionate, and hardworking…some might call her a force of nature, and others a loyal friend.

Kim is the owner of Divine Spectrums and creator of Emma Dee’s Remedies. She performs Shamanic practices; she has had training in Reiki and is an ordained Reverend. She is part Cherokee and stays true to her heritage by taking after her native Great Grandmother (Emma) to make Homemade Herbal Remedies.

Kim was raised in Rochester NY, and her life has been turbulent at times but she has never let it stop her, she is a strong, determined woman. Being that I know her very well, I personally believe that anyone could learn from her, purely based on the things she has experienced and overcome.

She does not call herself Shaman, or Healer, or Reiki Master, and the reason is best stated in the words of Franklin Thomas… “One day our descendants will think it incredible that we paid so much attention to things like the amount of melanin in our skin, or the shape of our eyes or our gender, instead of the unique identities of each of us as complex human beings. ” We hardly take a breath without judging one another and labels make it all the more easy to do so. 

A large collection of events spanning from the time that she was 7 or 8 years old have brought Kim to the place she is now. When she was a young child, one of her first experiences was with earth bound spirits who were more than happy to make themselves known. Over the years she had many experiences with “ghosts” and other strange paranormal phenomenon that had left her with many questions.

One of the most profound and revealing experiences she had came after the traumatic untimely death of her first husband. She had found a recording of a reading from a psychic in his belongings. She was surprised at this because she did not know that he had gone and he had never believed in those types of things. So she went to see this woman less than a month after his death and left thinking she was crazy. The psychic said that she would meet another man, and if she allowed him to get close to her, this person would be her life long partner. She said this would happen within that year. I am quite happy to announce that her and Steve (who happens to be our Creative Director) just recently celebrated their 6^th wedding anniversary. And, she did meet him within that year.

All the experiences she had always left her with a growing curiosity and she embarked on a journey to seek answers to the many questions she had throughout the years. This journey has brought her through many hardships but has also brought her great strength. Now she is passing her experiences, knowledge and strength onto others.
