...Karma... The
term Karma refers to a
person’s self-inflicted “fate”. This means that everything you do,
every action you take, affects your future somehow. You are responsible
for your own life and the future lives in which you are reincarnated.
Karma correlates with Isaac Newton’s third law of motion, which states “to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” Think of it as cause and effect. Every time you think or act you are creating a cause that will in time create an effect. Good Karma vs. Bad Karma In
the Hindu religion they believe in reincarnation and Karma. It is
believed that if you have generated “good Karma” your next
reincarnation will be rewarding. If you have not, you might actually be
reduced to to a lower life form. They believe that in order to generate
good karma you must live your life according to what is right. This
idea is called dharma.
Dharma is what is believed to be the path of righteousness. Living according to dharma will bring you good Karma and in return, you will have fulfilling and meaningful future incarnations. One of best ways to generate good Karma is through “The Discipline of Unattached Action.” Also called Nishkâma Karma. This term basically means that you should perform the tasks in your life without attachments. Think of cause and effect again. When you become attached to something and you lose it, it makes you angry or upset. Whatever the emotion may be, if it is negative (the emotion being your cause) it will in turn create negative effect. So positive begets positive and vice versa. Resources Wikipedia.com ![]() |
